INTRODUCTION
Creek Stormwater and Sanitary Sewer Improvements
The purpose of this memo is to recommend adoption of the attached resolution to be
considered at a public hearing approving the plans, specifications, form of contract and
the estimated cost for the North Fork Catfish Creek Stormwater and Sanitary Sewer
Improvements Project -Phase I.
DISCUSSION
The North Fork Catfish Creek Stormwater and Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project
involves the replacement of approximately 10,000 feet of 12-inch diameter clay sanitary
sewer with 4,105 feet of 18-inch and 6,000 feet of 24-inch diameter ductile iron sanitary
sewer. It includes: culvert improvements at Pennsylvania Ave (at John F. Kennedy
Road), Key Way Drive, and Rosemont Street; and the restoration and improvements to
the creek from Key Way to the Northwest Arterial.
The first phase of the project includes the installation of 3,970 feet of the 24-inch
diameter sanitary sewer from the University Avenue Extension to Kensington Drive. The
work associated with Phase I is fairly straightforward, with few complications, and is
ready for bid. The next segment involves the construction of the sanitary sewer through
the Pennsylvania/John F. Kennedy intersection where there are issues to be resolved
before bidding can proceed.

I recommend approval of the plans, specifications, form of contract and the estimated
cost for the North Fork Catfish Creek Stormwater and Sanitary Sewer Improvements
