Diverse Dubuque_A Focus on National OriginDubuque, IA -Official Website Page 1 of 1 'Diverse Dubuque' Video Wins Award of Excellence A locally produced video entitled "Diverse Dubuque: A Focus on National Origin" received the Iowa Motion Picture Association Award of Excellence in the Corporate and Community Marketing category at the Annual IMPA Award; Ceremony in Des Moines. The film was selected as the top Corporate and Community production against finalists Urbandale, Davenport, Des Moines, and Iowa City. The Iowa Motion Picture Awards are given in recognition of outstanding creative and technical achievement in Iowa's moving image production industry, in all its forms. The video was completed in fall 2008 by Loras College Productions for the National Origin subcommittee of the Dubuque Human Rights Commission. The video explores the modern-day immigrant experience in our communit} The film focuses on local residents who have chosen to make Dubuque their home, and is designed to remind us we are a nation of immigrants sharing common human interests. Credits on the film include: Ted Rosean, Associate Producer Nick Helten, Graphics Chris Lenart, Producer Craig Schaefer, Producer The Commission designed the short film to be used in presentations throughout the community in hopes of fosteri dialogue and breaking down barriers fueled by fear. Immigrants to Dubuque who are willing to share the story of tl experience in our community are available to present.
