DATE: January 9, 2018
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the Grand River
Center Electric Floor Box Replacement Project was awarded on December 15, 2017, to
Westphal & Co., Inc. in the amount of$29,500.
Leisure Services Manager Marie Ware recommends that the award for the Grand River
Center Electric Floor Box Replacement Project be officially recorded in the minutes of
the City Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

The Grand River Center Electric Floor Box Replacement Project will provide for
replacement of the electric floor boxes in the meeting rooms and ballroom. The
previous floor boxes were trip hazards and had been removed until this project could be
funded.
The following is a summary of the bids received for the project:

Westphal & Co Inc. $29,500
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this project was
awarded on December 15, 2017 to Westphal & Co Inc. No other bids were received for
the project. Bids were advertised through the city's bid site with over 15 companies or
project advertising firms downloading the plan set.
The project is funded as follows:

In accordance with the competitive quotation requirements of lowa Code, Section 26.14,
it is necessary that the award for the Grand River Center Electric Floor Box
