MINUTES OF CABLE TV COMMISSION MEETING
January 3, 2018
CITY HALL ANNEX — 1 st FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM #1
MEMBERS PRESENT: Pauline Maloney, Ron Tigges, Alan Vincent, Jennifer Tigges, Sr. Carol
Hoverman (Chair), Kathy McMullen.
MEMBERS ABSENT: One seat is vacant.
OTHERS PRESENT: Craig Nowack, City of Dubuque
Hoverman called the meeting to order at 4:04 p.m.
Acceptance of the Agenda
Upon a motion by Maloney, seconded by Vincent, the agenda was approved 6 - 0.
Approval of the Minutes of December 6, 2017
Upon a motion by JTigges, seconded by Vincent, minutes of the December 6, 2017, meeting were
approved 6— 0.
Election of Officers
Maloney noted that she had not yet served as chair of the Commission and would be willing to do so.
JTigges moved to appoint Maloney as chair. The motion was seconded by McMullen and approved
6— 0. JTigges volunteered to be vice-chair. McMullen moved to appoint JTigges as vice-chair. The
motion was seconded by Vincent and approved 6 —0.
Maloney took over as chair.
Public Input
There was no public input.
PEG Grant Programming Obligations
Nowack presented a draft of the annual letter to PEG grant recipients asking for a list of programming
produced during calendar year 2017. Vincent moved to approve the letter as drafted. The motion
was seconded by Hoverman and approved 6 —0.
Mediacom Cable Report
No one from Mediacom was present to report. RTigges moved to have Nowack send an e-mail to
Mediacom inviting them to send someone to these meetings. The motion was seconded by Vincent
and approved 6 —0.
Cable TV Report
Nowack showed his FAA remote pilot license which arrived in the mail the day after Christmas. He
noted that CityChannel Dubuque is now running a Featurette entitled "Bird's-Eye Dubuque #1" which
features video captured from the drone during their training flights. He also noted that the City's
public Certificate of Authority (COA) also arrived from the FAA just after Christmas. The COA applies
more to first responders. He also noted that it is budget presentation time and that he and Erich
Moeller are now discussing ideas for their annual budget video. Budget meetings begin on February
7 and Cable TV will present that night.

Upon a motion by RTigges seconded by Vincent, the meeting was adjourned at 424 p.m.
