Proclamation_Colts Drum and Bugle Corps Music on the March I & II PROCLAMATION th WHEREAS, the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps will be hosting the 46 Annual “Music on the March” drum corps event on Tuesday, June 30, 2009, and the “Music on the March II” event on Friday, July 31, at Dalzell Field at Senior High School; and WHEREAS, almost 1,200 young people will perform for 2,200 audience members in one of two cities in the country to be given the opportunity to host two shows this summer; and WHEREAS, this year’s line-up includes six of the top fifteen corps in the world with seven open-class corps such as the Colt Cadets; and WHEREAS, the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps are to be congratulated for having been selected to perform in the 2009 Presidential Inaugural Parade in Washington, D.C. NOW THEREFORE, I, JOYCE E. CONNORS, MAYOR PRO-TEM OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, OFFICIALLY WELCOME ALL DRUM AND BUGLE CORPS MEMBERS, THEIR FAMILIES AND SUPPORT STAFFS ON THE OCCASION OF THESE TWO SPECIAL EVENTS.
