Proclamation_Alzheimer's Monarch Month
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Dubuque Alzheimer’s Association will present it’s second annual,
non-profit program, “Monarch Moments.” on Sunday, July 19, 2009.
This program offers the families, friends and individuals who are
coping with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias an
opportunity to remember, to celebrate life, and to heal; and
WHEREAS, a remembrance ceremony will be presented from 10:00 a.m. to noon
at the Dubuque Arboretum after which Monarch Butterflies will be
release by loved ones and friends to symbolize the beauty of life
;
and
WHEREAS, the Dubuque Alzheimer’s Association is committed to the
individuals, families, and friends coping with Alzheimer’s disease
and related dementias; and
NOW THEREFORE, I, JOYCE E. CONNORS, MAYOR PRO-TEM OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF
DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE MONTH OF JULY 2009, AS
“MONARCH MOMENTS MONTH”
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, AND ENCOURAGE OUR COMMUNITY TO
CELEBRATE AND APPRECIATE THE INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, AND FRIENDS
COPING WITH ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE AND RELATED DEMENTIAS BY
ATTENDING THIS EVENT.
