Dear Mr. Buol:
Congratulations! I am pleased to inform you that the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid
Re-Housing Program (HPRP) Substantial Amendment to your jurisdiction's Consolidated Plan
2008 Action Plan has been approved for funding. Grant award letters containing specific award
amounts, documents, and instructions to facilitate the execution and implementation of the grant
will be sent by the local HUD field office under separate cover.
The HPRP is authorized under Title XII of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of
2009 (Recovery Act). Congress crafted legislation and allocated funding for communities to
provide financial assistance and services to prevent individuals and families from becoming
homeless and to help those who are experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed and
stabilized.
HPRP is one of several Recovery Act grant programs authorized under the Obama
administration. HUD encourages HPRP grantees to collaborate with eligible entities to maximize
the expeditious and coordinated use of all Recovery Act funds. HUD further encourages grantees to
take advantage of technical assistance that has been made available by the Department at
http://www.hud.gov/recovery or http://www.hudhre.info.
Thank you for all of your efforts to accomplish this mission. Your continued cooperation
with HUD is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Nelson R. Bregon
General Deputy Assistant Secretary
