MEMBERS PRESENT: AI Vincent, Jennifer Tigges, George Herrig, Pauline Maloney.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Burton Everist, Sr. Carol Hoverman. One seat is vacant on the
Commission.
OTHERS PRESENT: Jim Barefoot, Mediacom
Craig Nowack, City of Dubuque
Mr. Vincent called the meeting to order at 4:04 p.m.
Acceptance of the Agenda
Upon a motion by Ms. Tigges, seconded by Mr. Herrig, the agenda was accepted as published
unanimously.
Access Equipment & Expenditures
Request for funding from Mediacom. Mr. Nowack and Mr. Barefoot presented a request for
$11,500.00 to acquire a special encoding station for the public access studio at Mediacom. The
station includes an editing station with Matrox hardware, two refurbished Firestore hard drive
recorders, and installation. The station will enable Mediacom to capture new programming to one
hard drive recorder while simultaneously editing and creating MPG files for air on the other hard drive
recorder. Using editing software will enable consistency in playback audio levels on the air.
Ms. Maloney moved to approve up to $11,500.00 for this request. The motion was seconded by Mr.
Herrig and approved unanimously.

Upon a motion by Ms. Tigges, seconded by Mr. Herrig, the meeting was adjourned at 4:11 p.m.
