7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the Langworthy Historic District. StyleNear: c.1920-21, Craftsman style,
embodied in the form, materials, and upper sash type. A Mission influ-ence is represented by the
single dormer with rounded pediment and the finely detailed round-hooded entry porch with paired
column supports is perhaps a Colonial Revival theme.
Physical Description: two-story square plan (28x30) with hip roof, dark brick veneer up to sill level of
upper floor (stucco above), the chimney is centered on the east sidewall. Single-story rear offset wing
with basement (8x16). Concrete foundation. Centered front porch 6x10.
Alterations: Permits note a re-roofing in 1997.
Landscaping/Setting: The site is level and the house orients northward, stucco garage at the southwest
corner of the lot reached with curved driveway.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Original Owner/Builder: Andrew and Rose Fluetsch were the first listed residents, 1921. He was
secretary-treasurer of the Iowa Dairy Co.
Building History: no 1918 listing, listed vacant 1921. No sewer data found.
