Narrative Description: This property is located in the Langworthy Historic District. StyleNear: 1920, defies classification, purely eclectic amalgam. Physical Description: Right half of plan is a two-story cube form (30x26, left side wing 28x22) with centered hip roof dormer, but plan is other-wise a rectangular footprint and the left half of the fayade is infilled with an oriental pagoda-like bay (5x22) set atop a wrap-around porch. The entrance (4x12) is centered and there is a three-sided bay set above it on the second floor. A rounded arch on the porch front hints at the Tudor, as do triple-window sets with casement infills and transoms. The exterior has a polychromatic brick veneer. The eaves are broad and there is a tile roof. A rear corner single-story brick addition measures 18x22. Concrete foundation. Alterations: Permits note rear porch enlargement in 1944, gutter repair in 1967, garage roof repair in 1967. Landscaping/Setting: level site with north-facing house, driveway to the west of the house and garage in the southwest rear corner. 8. Narrative Statement of Significance: Special Significance; built by a Langworthy family member Original Owner/Builder: Frank A. and Linda Ulrich were the first listed residents, 1921. He was treasurer and general manager of Uhlrich-Paley Co., dealers in coal, etc. Building History: Joseph and Virginia Even purchased 1945 and sold it to Charles and Sally Naylor in June 1978, they restored the house and won a 1995-96 Dubuque County Historical Society preservation award (Telegraph-Herald, March 4, 1997). No listing 1918-21. No sewer data found. 9.
