7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the Langworthy Historic District. StyleNear: 1922-25, Tudor Revival cottage,
all-stucco examples of this style comprise the smallest six sub-types. The form, that of a front gable
plan with side entrance is also unusual. The style is represented by the steeply pitched gable roofs
with bellcast eaves, the casement window sets, the massing, and the stone arched Gothic entrance.
Designer/Builder:
Physical Description: One-story side gable rectangular plan with centered subordinate wing (37x23
with stepped out side wings 2x13'6" and 5x14'6", opposite centered wing 4x8 flanked by single story
infillings, 4x16'6", 4'x7'). The entrance is on the southwest side corner. Shed roof dormers flank the
side wing roof. A single story square-cut bay is on the southeast corner of the fayade (3x10). Special
features include the tile roof, the in-wall front chimney, and the ornamental diamond brickwork pattern
in the front gable end.
Alterations: Permits note re-roofings in 1942, 1996.
Landscaping/Setting: Small level lot, house fronts south. Brick driveway to west of house.

Original Owner/Builder: Carl F. and Maud Hartman were the first residents listed here, 1926. He was
associated with Hartman Furniture Co.
Building History: no 1921 listing. No sewer data found. Frank Gilloon Jr. owns 1949-1971+.
