Proclamation_Tour de Dubuque Ride - Hospice 8 29 09
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Hospice of Dubuque meets the medical and nursing needs of
terminally ill patients in eastern Iowa, western Illinois and
southwestern Wisconsin; and
WHEREAS, Hospice fulfills the psychological, social and spiritual needs of
patients and their families, providing the quality of care that allows
people to live well at the end of life; and
WHEREAS, the staff and volunteers of Hospice are reliable and kind companions
to patients and their loved ones on their life’s journey; and
WHEREAS, the “Custom Riders” of Dubuque made up of 150 motorcyclists,
th
sponsored by Hospice friends and relatives, will travel the 11
Annual Tour de Dubuque on Saturday, August 29, 2009, touring the
tri-state area to raise funds for Hospice.
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA,
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO
HEREBY PROCLAIM SATURDAY, AUGUST 29, 2009 AS:
“TOUR de DUBUQUE DAY”
IN DUBUQUE, IOWA AND ACTIVELY ENCOURAGE THE SUPPORT AND
TH
PARTICIPATION OF FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS AND FELLOW CITIZENS IN THE 11
ANNUAL TOUR de DUBUQUE RIDE TO BENEFIT HOSPICE OF DUBUQUE.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have
