History of 1805 Central BuildingHISTORY OF 1805 CENTRAL FIRE STATION
Per Mike Gibson at Loras who contacted Bill Hammel who is writing a book @ the
Dubuque Fire Department history:
Bill Hammel says that this building (1805 Central) was built in 1883 by a Jones
Construction Co. (Mr. Jones was a former alderman) and occupied in January
1884. It was the very first engine house for the "paid" Fire Department (guess
before that it was all volunteer).
