7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the West Eleventh Street Historic District. StyleNear: pre-1909/1896, broad
vernacular two-story gable front duplex plan,
Physical Description: two-story frame gable front rectangular plan (each half 40x12) with subordinate
two-story gable roof rear wing, and a single-story full-width shed roof wing set above a walkout
basement (door to the east), There is a raised stone foundation and wooden water table, Paired and
centered front entries have transoms, The house retains its clapboard exterior. There are two
chimneys centered on the roof ridge on the core and rear wing, Fenestration is not symmetrical. It is
unusual to have a gable front duplex arrangement and in this case there are just two windows on the
front upper level and a single attic window, Side fenestration is vertically aligned and there are two
doors and two windows on the east rear basement wall. There is no porch, simple a concrete deck
(6x22 centered porch present 1971),
Alterations: full width front single-story porch present in 1950 removed, Permits note re-roofings in
1933, 1973,
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Original Owner/Builder: Mrs, E, Hitchins (119) and R. 0, Campbell (121) lived here as of 1899,
Building History: Assessor treats as separate properties 1971,
Mrs, M, Walker owned the parcel when it was sewered in 1897, the tap was made May 31, 1911,
