MINUTES OF CABLE TV COMMISSION MEETING
December 6, 2017

MEMBERS PRESENT: Pauline Maloney, Ron Tigges, Alan Vincent, Jennifer Tigges, Sr. Carol
Hoverman (Chair).
MEMBERS ABSENT: Kathy McMullen. One seat is vacant.
OTHERS PRESENT: Craig Nowack, City of Dubuque
Craig Schaefer, Loras College
Hoverman called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
Acceptance of the Agenda
Upon a motion by Maloney, seconded by Vincent, the agenda was approved 5 - 0.
Approval of the Minutes of November 1, 2017
Upon a motion by Vincent, seconded by Maloney, minutes of the November 1, 2017, meeting were
approved 5— 0.
Public Input
There was no public input.
RequestforFunding
Schaefer presented a request for $19,853.82 for a newsroom integration system to manage their
student-generated cable programming, including newscasts, sportscasts, and entertainment
programming. He addressed the Commission's concerns from the previous month's funding request
by noting that the modules pertaining to social media publishing will not be purchased. Hoverman
moved to approve up to $20,000 for the request. The motion was seconded by Maloney and
approved 5— 0.
PEG Grant Programming Obligations
There was no discussion on this item.
Mediacom Cable Report
No one from Mediacom was present to report.
Cable TV Report
Nowack reported that last week he and Video Producer Erich Moeller have begun flying their drone
and capturing video in 4K. He also noted the upcoming From the Archives New Year's Day Marathon
and played about 10 minutes from the "River Boats, River Voices" program that will premiere on
Christmas Day.
