Narrative Description: This property is located in the West Eleventh Street Historic District. Style/Year: 1898, two-story frame side gable vernacular house plan with broad rear wing and southwest corner porch. Physical Description: aluminum siding, square cut centered porch (5.5’x10) with walk-out deck, centered upper level front door. Rectangular core (30x24), two rear porches or additions. Stone foundation. Alterations: siding, porch (none present 1950), duplexed, concrete front deck. Permits note re-roofings in 1937, 1975, re-sided 1946, 1975, open porch repairs 1950, alterations 1975 ($300), front re-sided, windows changed and doors covered 1990 ($1,200). Assessor notes 1977 change of open porch to addition. Probable attached frame garage (1976). A square-cut walkout porch with upper balcony has been replaced with a simple gable roof canopy, and a centered upper front door sealed over since 1986. Landscaping/Setting: ground rises to west and north, walk to east, fronts north. 8. Narrative Statement of Significance: Building History: Mrs. E. A. Buel owned the parcel when it was sewered c.1889. The tap dates to October 28, 1902 and this date quite likely dates the house construction. First directory listing is 1899 when W. E. Fx who was at 614/192. He is not found for 1896. Mrs. E. A. th B. Buell was at 182 W. 14 in 1890 which might be at or near this address but she too is missing for 1896. 9.
