7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the West Eleventh Street Historic District. Style/Year:1951, 1.5-story gable
front frame vernacular cottage.
Physical Description: single-story gable roof porch, rectangular front portion 16x23, single story rear
addition (20x23). Porch measures 8x15.
Alterations: aluminum siding, house moved in less than 50 years ago? Permits note a re-roofing in
1994, converted and altered 1946 ($190), addition built 1949 ($250), rear addition 1956 ($1,000), re-
sided 1957. 1971 Assessors card refers to new rear addition.
Landscaping/Setting: set in very low lot behind a series of terraces, might front south.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Building History: 1950 Sanborn Map locates a garage here at that time, house apparently moved in
since then. L. A. Rhomberg owned the parcel when it was sewered c.1894.
First listing 1952, James C. Tompkins, by 1955, Stanley A. Haagenson was here.
