Minutes Five Flags Civ 12 16 02Five Flags Commission Meeting December 16, 2002 PRESENT: Rod Bakke, Mike Brannon, Cindy Fuller, Mark Nauman ABSENT: Gary Dolphin STAFF PRESENT: Gall McMahon, Gil Spence, Paula Wolfe The Commission meeting convened at 4:31 p.m. in the Manager's Office at Five Flags Center. Chairperson Mark Nauman presided. Rod Bakke moved to approve the November 18, 2002 Five Flags Commission Minutes, seconded by Mike Brannon. Minutes were approved by all. Manager W.olfe reported that. November was a very good month. Gaelic Storm started out the month on November 1, with Red Green Live closing out the month on November 30. The George Carden Circus did well, however ticket sales were down about 200 tickets per performance. The Telegraph Herald featured photo coverage of the circus as and a photo and article on Marsville. November featured a lot of training and hiring. All Zamboni drivers and front-of-house staff were certified in defibrillator and CPR. A front-of-house staff meeting was also held dudng the month. November financials were reviewed. November's revenue was up from October. Non- revenue events (City meetings) were down in November. Concessions were more than double from this month last year. A strong variety of events were presented during the month as follows: 3 Sesame St. Shows, 3 Symphony Concerts, 2 Madcap Puppet Shows, 2 Circus Shows. Novelties revenue for Sesame Street and the circus were very strong. Ticket sales have been going well. A campaign for holiday gift certificates is underway. Print and radio ads are currently running to promote gift certificates and ticket sales. Old Business. The final report of the feasibility study, "Analysis of Potential Future Uses for the Five Flags Center" was presented to commission members by John Kaatz of CSL. After discussion, Mike Brannon moved to receive and file the CSL study. It was seconded by Rod Bakke and approved by all. New Business. The January, February and March meetings of the commission have been changed due to scheduling conflicts. Meetings for those months will be held on Monday mornings as follows: January 13 - 8:30 a.m. A visioning session will follow the regular meeting at 9:00 a.m. February 17 - 9:00 a.m. March 17 - 9:00 a.m. There being no further business, Rod Bakke moved to adjourn the meeting.
