7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the West Eleventh Street Historic District. StylelYear: 1900-01, late Queen
Anne style (massing, bays) with Neo Classical porch. Of particular interest is the presence of twin
rounded windows with key stone.
Physical Description: nine rooms, five bedrooms, two-story frame L-plan (west depth 43', rear width 23',
front breadth 31 '6", front rectangular core measured 31x 31) with rear west bay wing. A three-sided
bay (3x13) projects from the right half of the fagade. It has a turret-like cap. High pitched pyramid roof,
west side chimney, full-width front around porch with rounded east end, entry on west side of front.
There is a west side full-height oriole window (2x10) and gable roof dormer. Raised stone foundation.
East bay measures 3x12, rear porches 13'6"x6.
Alterations: steel siding has hidden any original material or detailing. Permits note re-roofings in 1986,
1995, replace soffit 1971, re-side 1973.
Landscaping/Setting: ground rises to the west, building self levels, low terrace, concrete wall and steps
in front, fronts south.

Building History: date from real estate book.
The E, D. Norris Estate owned this parcel when it was sewered and in 1873 when it was subdivided.
The Mary Myers Estate owned it pre-1955 until 1970, as of 1955 two elderly persons lived here.
Arthur B. and Elizabeth K. Carlin first directory listing (vice president Farley & Loetscher) owned 1902-
11; Dr. Clarance W. Mehlhop 1913-18; Wm. B. Poinsett, 1921-27; William B. and Mary Myers, 1929-55;
Dale J, Tiefel, 1858-60; Arthur J. Henke, 1961-68, Charles Filiatreat, 1970-79 (Biays Bowerman
research).
