Narrative Description: This property is located in the Jackson Park Historic District. Style/Year: pre-1889, vernacular two- story frame gable front plan with Queen Anne update (side bay, south side). Physical Description: rectangular plan, right hand entry with transom, straight window arches, projecting wood sills, porch extends south beyond house side wall, three-sided bay centered on plan, single story rear addition (garage?). Alterations: faux brick asphalt siding first floor front, metal siding elsewhere, later date low-hip roof porch with square pillars, concrete deck and metal railings. No permit data. Landscaping/Setting: level parcel, open to front and sides, fronts east. 8. Narrative Statement of Significance: Building History: Patrick Clancy, employed by the freight transfer line, lived at 1155 Bluff in 1881 and built a double brick dwelling for $2,000 in 1880 (Herald, January 1, 1881). This doesn’t fit this address- by 1893 he was at 1875 Bluff, also a non-fit. B. Frank Davis built a brick dwelling in 1884 for $1,500— he owned the B. F. Davis & Co. Confectioners and is addressed as living at 1161 Bluff. B. F. Davis owned the parcel when the block was sewered. The tap date is September 21, 1921. 1899- J. Plaister at 1157 Bluff. 9.
