Narrative Description: Architectural Style And Key Stylistic Elements: Italianate style early brick core (round window in offset gable roof attic front), Classical Revival style changes and style porch and dormer added, wraparound stone lintels, stone foundation and water table Physical Description: 54x30 core, porch in front left corner Alterations: 1897 photo indicates that south wing oculus window was replaced with window set, rear dormer added, porch added, cresting on flat cap of roof was removed. Building Permit Card: 1946 – Board of Adjustment application to convert present building into dwelling (A. J. Kasel owner) 1962 - resided . 1987 – erect 33 x 26 8 detached frame garage- $8757-owner: Dave Haberkorn Outbuildings: Garage (linked by breezeway), 1987, 33x27, aluminum siding, greenhouse, 1900, 7x29, shed, Carriage House, 1900, 28x38, shown on 1909 map, side gabled, 1.5-story, folding double door auto entry added north side, cantilevered mow pediment in center. Landscaping Notes: Level lot, open yard to the south as are garage and drive, fronts west. 8. Narrative Statement of Significance: Evaluation: House surveyed by Kriviskey in 1979, rated “2” as a “virtually intact and …an excellent example” of the style applied to a cottage. The house is recommended as being individually NRHP eligible. Designer/Contractor: Heer and Beck, architects Historical Notes: Frank Altman, builds brick residence 30x54 for $2,500, work progressing, as 100 Broadway (Herald, May 9, 1886). Also described as a two-story dwelling, worth just $800 (different?) and single-story brick dwelling ($2,500) (Herald, January 1, 1887). F. W. Altman owns when sewered 1897, owns Lot 12.
