City Council, Special Session, February 24, 2003
Council met in Special Session at 6:15 P.M. in the Library Auditorium
Present: Mayor Duggan, Council Members Buol, Cline, Connors, Markham, Michalski,
Nicholson, City Manager Michael Van Milligen
Mayor Duggan read the call and stated this is a special session of the City Council called for
the purpose of discussing various City departmental budgets.
Five Flags Civic Center: After reviewing the budget, Council requested a Work Session on
the CSL Report – Convention, Sports and Leisure.
Recreation Division: After reviewing the budget, a recommendation for more cooperative
events with Central High School was suggested.
Park Division: After reviewing the budget and in answer to a query, assurance was given that
there is a sufficient number of Park Rangers.
Economic Development Department: A review of the past and proposed major economic
developments was presented.
Rhodes (Bud) Isenhart, 8908 Quail Ridge Ct., spoke commending staff for the major
construction projects and requested an annual status report as to creation and retention of jobs
in TIF districts.
Transit Division: After reviewing the budget, it was requested that bus service to the new west
end Mall off Asbury Road be considered.
Parking Division: After reviewing the budget, the comment was made that sufficient
handicapped parking in the ramps needs to be provided.
There being no further business, upon motion meeting adjourned at 8:07 P.M.
