Ambulance Fees IncreaseRESOLUTION NO. 60-03
ADJUSTING FEES FOR AMBULANCE SERVICE
Whereas, fees for ambulance service have not been adjusted for several
years; and
Whereas, changes in the federal Medicare program rules require changes
in the fee structure for ambulance service; and
Whereas, market studies and technology upgrades also support an
increase in ambulance fees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. The following fee schedule for ambulance service is adopted:

Basic Life Support (BLS) Base Rate $ 400.00 $ 550.00
Advanced Life Support (ALS) I Base Rate $ 500.00 $ 650.00
Advanced Life Support (ALS) 2 Base Rate $ 650.00 $ 800.00
On Scene Care Basic Life Support (BLS) $ 75.00 $ 225.00
On Scene Care Advanced Life Support (ALS) $150.00 $ 300.00
Oxygen Administraflon $ 35.00 $ 35.00
Spinal lmmobilization $ 75.00 $ 75.00

Section 2. This fee schedule shall take effect on March 1, 2003.
Section 3. The City Manager or the City Manager's designee is authorized
to accept as payment-in-full the amount paid by Medicare or Medicaid and
any other insurers for covered ambulance services for Medicare and
Medicaid patients who are residents of the City of Dubuque.
