SUBJECT:Rip Row Valley, Ball Field Development
Leisure Services Manager Gil Spence is recommending that the City Council rescind
Resolution No. 526-02, which set the final estimate for the Rip Row Valley Ball Field
Development at $111,418.49, and adopt a new resolution setting the final estimate at
$120,052.89. After the project was accepted and the final estimate established, itwas
discovered that not all the change orders were included in the final estimate.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memorandum is to request that the City Council rescind the
resolution passed on October 7, 2002 that set the final estimate for the Rip Row Valley
Ball Field Development at $111,418.49 and adopt a new resolution setting the final
estimate at $120.052.89.
DISCUSSION
After the project was accepted and the final estimate established, it was discovered that
not all the change orders were included in the final estimate.
These two resolutions correct the situation.
ACTION STEP
The action requested is that the City Council adopt the attached resolutions rescinding
resolution number 526-02 and setting a new final estimate for the Rip Row Valley Ball
Field Development Project.

RESOLUTION NO. 64-03
RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION NUMBER 526-02, SETTING THE FINAL
ESTIMATE FOR THE RIP ROW VALLEY BALL FIELD DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
Whereas, by Resolution No. 526-02, the City Council set the final estimate for
the Rip Row Valley Ball Field Development Project; and
Whereas, subsequent events necessitate a different final estimate.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That Resolution Number 526-02 is rescinded.

RESOLUTION NO. 65-03
FINAL ESTIMATE
WHEREAS, the contract for the RIP ROW VALLEY, BALL FIELD DEVELOPMENT
PROJECT has been completed and the Engineer has submitted his final estimate showing
the cost thereof including the cost of estimates, notices and inspection and all
miscellaneous costs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the cost of said improvement is hereby determined to be
$120,052.89, and the said amount shall be paid from the General Fund of the City of
Dubuque, Iowa.
Passed, approved and adopted this 3rd day of March, 2003.
