RE: Transit Advisory Board Ordinance Change Request
DATE: March 8, 2018
P U RPOS E
To request approval of a change to Ordinance 50-14 Section 5-1-10 of the City of
Dubuque Code of Ordinances to modify meeting frequency requirements for the Transit
Advisory Board.
BAC KG RO U N D
The Transit Advisory Board has reviewed and proposed a change to their meeting
frequency. The proposed changes have been reviewed by the City's legal department.
DISCUSSION
The Transit Advisory Board reviewed the board's meeting requirements as outlined in
Ordinance 50-14. The attached draft ordinance would amend Section 5-1-10 of the City
of Dubuque Code of Ordinances to modify meeting frequency requirements for the
Transit Advisory Board. Reducing the frequency from "must meet not less than
bimonthly" to "will meet bimonthly from September to May, meeting no less than 4 times
peryear".
This change was recommended by the board as securing quorum during the summer
months and meeting the bimonthly requirement is difficult.
RECOMMENDATION
I recommend that the ordinance be submitted to the City Council for consideration.
Please let me know if you need further information.
Thank you.
