Van Milligen, City Manager -� FROM: Gus Psihoyos, City Engineer `-��, DATE: April 6, 2018 RE: Thomas Place Retaining Wall Repair Project The Thomas Place Retaining Wall Repair Project will provide for the repair of 12 feet of existing limestone retaining wall & replacement of 92 feet of existing concrete retaining wall with a reinforced concrete wall. The project also includes 20 LF of steel W-Beam guardrail with wood posts, a 92-foot chain link fence and 71.6 SF of 5" HMA pavement for the street repair. The following is a summary of bids received for the Thomas Place Retaining Wall Repair Project: Contractor Base Bid Drew Cook & Sons Excavating $52,420.10 Mainline Excavating $57,666.66 McDermott Excavating $62,569.65 Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this project was awarded on April 6, 2018 to Drew Cook & Sons Excavating Co., Inc. of Dubuque, lowa, in the base bid amount of$52,420.00.
