SUBJECT: 2018 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp Project Two
DATE: March 21 , 2018
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the 2018 Asphalt
Overlay Access Ramp Project Two was awarded on March 20, 2018, to Midwest
Concrete, Inc., in the base bid amount of$112,508.25.
City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the 2018 Asphalt Overlay
Access Ramp Project Two be officially recorded in the minutes of the City Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

RE: 2018 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp Project Two
The 2018 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp Project Two will provide for the removal,
realignment and reconstruction of corner access ramps in the area of Davenport, West 28tn
Sabula, Primrose, National, Stoltz, Lemon, and Sauders Streets, Maplewood Court,
Oakcrest and Wildwood Drive, Boyer Street, Berkley Place, East 29t", Balke, Groveland,
Goethe, Lawther and Strauss Streets. The project will coincide with the Public Works
Department Street Overlay Program.
The following is a summary of bids received for the 2018 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp
Project Two:

Drew Cook & Sons Excavating $118,646.00
McDermott Excavating $138,287.50
Mainline Excavating $149,821.50
East lowa Construction $153,022.75
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this project was
awarded on March 20, 2018 to Midwest Concrete, Inc. of Dubuque, lowa, in the base bid
amount of $112,508.25.
This portion of the funding will be funded as follows:
