Chairperson Dave Young called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. following staff assurance of
compliance with lowa Open Meeting Law.

Meetinq
Gil Spence motioned ta approve the minutes. Christoffer Lammer-Heindel seconded. Motion
passed 5-0.
Carrespondence/Public Inpu4
There was no correspondence or public input.
Consent Aqenda '!
The cansent agenda items are considered to be routine and non-controversial and all cansent
items will be normally vated upon in a single motion without any separate discussion on a
particular item.
The follawing property owners have requested an extension af time to complete repairs. The
Housing and Community Develapment staff concurs with the extension of time requested and
respectfully requests Hausing Appeals Board appraval.
Kyle Fitzgerald,owner of 733 Rose Street,is requesting an extension of time to May 26,2018.
David Young motianed to apprave the Cansent Agenda. Christoffer Lammer-Heindel seconded.
Matian passed 5-0.
ALL DEFICIENCIES AND MOTIONS ARE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DUBUQUE :
HOUSING CODE UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED. EXTENSIONS OF TIME ARE GRANTED
IN ACCORDANCE WITH TITLE 6 SECTION 6-9F(1) AND VARIANCES ARE GRANTED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH TITLE 6 SECTION 6-9F(2). �

Old Business
Ben updated the disposition af past appeals. ;
Ben alsa updated the Board an the previous meeting's discussion of variances and
modifications and the Baard's authority. The Board has the authority to approve ar deny an
inspector's modifications recommended by the code official.
Information Sharinq
Ben shared a draft of a potential tiered inspection program that the General Housing program is '
considering. Gil asked if the Board would be approving this before it is implemented. Ben
responded that it is still currently in the draft stage. The draft will be reviewed by the City
Attorney and she will provide guidance on the approval process.
Ben presented a 2017 year end review far the board.

meeting was adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
