City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the Cummins Street Retaining Wall Reconstruction Project be officially recorded in the minutes of the City Council. This modular wall style simulates a natural limestone look at less cost and faster installation. The length of the retaining wall to be constructed is approximately 121 LF. The project also includes 165 LF of new curb, gutter, sidewalk and replacement of an ADA ramp. The following is a summary of bids received for Cummins Street Retaining Wall Reconstruction Project: Contractor Base Bid Drew Cook & Sons Excavating $93,591.50 McDermott Excavating $103,515.00 Mainline Excavating $106,356.75 Midwest Concrete, Inc. $125,840.00 Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this project was awarded on May 10, 2018 to Drew Cook & Sons Excavating Co., Inc. of Dubuque, lowa, in the base bid amount of $93,591.50.
