Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the Cummins
Street Retaining Wall Reconstruction Project was awarded on May 10, 2018, to Drew
Cook & Sons Excavating Co., Inc., in the base bid amount of$93,591 .50.
City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the Cummins Street
Retaining Wall Reconstruction Project be officially recorded in the minutes of the City
Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

RE: Cummins Street Retaining Wall Reconstruction Project
The Cummins Street Retaining Wall Reconstruction Project will provide for the removal of
an existing concrete retaining wall and replacement with a new modular redi-rock retaining
wall. This modular wall style simulates a natural limestone look at less cost and faster
installation. The length of the retaining wall to be constructed is approximately 121 LF. The
project also includes 165 LF of new curb, gutter, sidewalk and replacement of an ADA
ramp.
The following is a summary of bids received for Cummins Street Retaining Wall
Reconstruction Project:

Midwest Concrete, Inc. $125,840.00
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this project was
awarded on May 10, 2018 to Drew Cook & Sons Excavating Co., Inc. of Dubuque, lowa,
in the base bid amount of $93,591.50.
This portion of the funding will be funded as follows:
