SUBJECT: 2018 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp Project Three
DATE: May 21 , 2018
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the 2018 Asphalt
Overlay Access Ramp Project Three was awarded on May 17, 2018, to Midwest
Concrete, Inc., in the base bid amount of$125,059.
City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the 2018 Asphalt Overlay
Access Ramp Project Three be officially recorded in the minutes of the City Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

RE: 2018 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp Project Three
The 2018 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp Project Three will provide for the removal,
realignment and reconstruction of corner access ramps in the area of Green Street, Avoca,
Atlantic and Delaware Streets. The project will coincide with the Public Works Department
Street Overlay Program.
The following is a summary of bids received for the 2018 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp
Project Three:

Midwest Concrete, Inc. $125,059.00
East lowa Construction $135,487.50
Drew Cook & Sons Excavating $147,181.50
McDermott Excavating $149,267.00
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this project was
awarded on May 17, 2018 to Midwest Concrete, Inc. of Peosta, lowa, in the base bid
amount of $125,059.00.
This portion of the funding will be funded as follows:
