SUBJECT: 2018 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp Project Four
DATE: June 12, 2018
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the 2018 Asphalt
Overlay Access Ramp Project Four was awarded on May 29, 2018, to East lowa
Construction, in the base bid amount of$65,560.
City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the 2018 Asphalt Overlay
Access Ramp Project Four be officially recorded in the minutes of the City Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

RE: 2018 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp Project Four
The 2018 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp Project Four will provide for the removal,
realignment and reconstruction of corner access ramps in the area of Irving, Decorah,
Ashton, N Algona, Auburn, Atlantic, Fillmore and Alta Streets. The project will coincide with
the Public Works Department Street Overlay Program.
The following is a summary of bids received for the 2018 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp
Project Three:
Contractor Base Bid
East lowa Construction $65,560.00
Midwest Concrete, Inc. $67,970.00
McDermott Excavating $70,618.00
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this project was
awarded on May 29, 2018 to East lowa Construction of Epworth, lowa, in the base bid
amount of$65,560.00.
This portion of the funding will be funded as follows:
