SUBJECT: Veteran's Park Pickle Ball Courts Project
DATE: June 25, 2018
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the Veteran's Park
Pickle Ball Courts Project was awarded on June 14, 2018, to Midwest Concrete, Inc., in
the base bid amount of$61 ,177.25.
City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the Veteran's Park Pickle
Ball Courts Project be officially recorded in the minutes of the City Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

RE: Veteran's Park Pickle Ball Courts Project
The Veteran's Park Pickle Ball Courts Project will add new asphalt surfacing over existing
asphalt tennis courts to provide for nine (9) pickleball courts. The project will include the
laying of four inches of granular material over the existing asphalt courts with the placement
of four inches of hot mix asphalt to create the new pickle ball surface. Also included is the
removal of existing tennis court posts and basketball posts with placement of imported
topsoil and hydraulic seeding to complete the project.
The following is a summary of bids received for the Veteran's Park Pickle Ball Courts

Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this project was
awarded on June 14, 2018 to Midwest Concrete, Inc. of Peosta, lowa, in the base bid
amount of$61 ,177.25.
This portion of the funding will be funded as follows:
