DATE: June 25, 2018
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the Washington
Park Gazebo Painting Project was awarded on May 15, 2018, to Colonial Painting and
Decorating, Inc., in the base bid amount of$28,750.
Leisure Services Manager Marie Ware recommends that the award for the Washington
Park Gazebo Painting Project be officially recorded in the minutes of the City Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

SUBJECT: Washington Park Gazebo Painting Project Award CIP #3501605
DATE: June 25, 2018
The Washington Park Gazebo Painting Project includes the preparation and painting of
the gazebo, preparation and painting of railings and guardrails attached to the gazebo,
and preparation and painting of the inside and outside of inetal skirting below gazebo
slab. Additionally, the repair and/or replacement of broken/missing architectural
ornaments is included.
MSA Professional Services Inc., prepared an RFP for the project. Bids were received
on May, 4t" 2018. Bid results are as follows:

Colonial Painting and Decorating, Inc. $28,750.00
TMI Coatings, Inc. $38,500.00
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this project was
awarded to Colonial Painting and Decorating, Inc. of Dubuque, lowa on May 15t", 2018,
in the base bid amount of$28,750.
The project is funded as follows:

In accordance with the competitive quotation requirements of lowa Code, Section 26.14,
it is necessary that the award for the Washington Park Gazebo Painting Project be
