RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE DICW-
MCFADDEN FARM GRADING PHASE I PROJECT
Whereas, the City purchased 36.5 acres of property from McFadden properties, LLC
(McFadden Farm). The McFadden farm is within the City's current industrial park, along
Chavenelle Road, is adjacent to existing developed industrial property and has City
utilities available at its perimeter, and;
Whereas, Dubuque is one of four finalist communities in four states under
consideration by a company reviewing locations for a corporate expansion with an
approximately $350 million capital investment to construct a 350,000 square -foot facility
that would employ approximately 450 people within five years with an estimated annual
payroll exceeding $22 million, and;
Whereas, to strengthen Dubuque's bid for selection and to remain a viable option for
the project, City staff is recommending an expedited plan to begin site preparation on
City property in Dubuque Industrial Center West.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the City of Dubuque intends to proceed with site improvements to
include excavation and grading of a development pad in Dubuque Industrial Center
West (DICW/McFadden Grading Project Phase 1).
Section 2. That a public hearing to consider the plans, specifications and form of
contract will be held on the 20th day of August, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Historic Federal
Building Council Chambers (second floor) 350 W. 6th Street, Dubuque, Iowa, of said
Project, and the City Clerk be and is hereby directed to cause the attached notice of the
time and place of such hearing to be published in a newspaper having general
circulation in the City of Dubuque, Iowa, which notice shall be published not less than
four days nor more than twenty days prior to the date of such hearing. At the hearing,
any interested person may appear and file objections to the Project.

AND FORM OF CONTRACT FOR THE DICW — MCFADDEN FARM GRADING
PHASEI
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: The City Council of the City of Dubuque, Iowa will hold
a public hearing to consider the plans, specifications, and form of contract for the DICW
— McFadden Farm Grading Phase I Project, in accordance with the provisions of
Chapter 26, Code of Iowa, at 6:00 p.m., on the 20th day of August 2018, in the Historic
Federal Building Council Chambers (second floor), 350 West 6th Street, Dubuque, Iowa.
At the meeting, the City Council will receive oral and written comments from any
resident or property owner of said City to the above action. Written comments
regarding the above public hearing may be submitted to the City Clerk's Office, City
Hall, 50 W. 13th Street, on or before said time of public hearing.
Copies of supporting documents for the public hearings are on file in the City Clerk's
Office and may be viewed during normal working hours.
