Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the Eagle Point
Park Indian Room Roofing Project was awarded on April 20, 2018, to Gronen
Restoration, in the alternate bid amount of$49,500.
Leisure Services Manager Marie Ware recommends that the award for the Eagle Point
Park Indian Room Roofing Project be officially recorded in the minutes of the City
Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

SUBJECT: Eagle Point Park Indian Room Roofing Project CIP #350 2509
DATE: July 23, 2018
The Eagle Point Park Indian Room Roof Replacement Project includes the complete
removal and replacement of the Indian Room roof.
MSA Professional Services Inc., prepared an RFP for the project. The RFP included a
base bid for the roof replacement of the Eagle Point Park Bridge Complex with an
alternate bid for the Indian Room roof. Bids were received on February 2nd, 2018. Bid
results were as follows:

Tricon General Construction, Inc. $148,00.00 $97,000
The CIP budget for the project is approximately $52,879. It was determined to complete
the alternate bid due to budget constraints and the Indian Room roof being more
deteriorated. Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this
project was awarded to Gronen Restoration of Dubuque, lowa on April 20, 2018, in the
alternate bid amount of$49,500. Due to rising cost of cedar shake shingles, the contract
amount has been increased to $55,040 as of June 26, 2018. The additional funds
needed will be used from CIP project Eagle Point Park Stone.

In accordance with the competitive quotation requirements of lowa Code, Section 26.14,
