renovate or expand the Five FCags Center at its current location in Downtown Dubuq�e.
With over 2 million visitars annualEy,the tourism industry has been reco�nized as infiegral component in
the develQpment and continued pre�s�rerity of the Dubuque regian. To stay campetitive with {
communities our size and larger in the region and national[y,a renavation c�r expansion to the�ive Flags li
Center will keep us campetitive and may even give us an advantage when it comes to securing sporting �
�vents, city wide meetings and con�rentions,ar�d other large entertainment nppartunities. �
In 2016,the U.S.Travel Assoeiaticsrt rep€�rted that$338.14 million was generated in trav�ler spendir�g �
alone in Dubuque Caunty.This aiso resuCted in$55.89 m�llion in payroll,emplayment�f over 2,900
individuals,$19.90 miilian in state tax receipts and$4.72 milCian in lacal tax reeeipts.With the I�
opportunity ta secure farger events and thase�hat stay for.more than one day,our travef and tourism ��
ecanarrry wilf increase;thus, impaet€ng funds generated for the City of�ubuque and our local �

businesses. � �
History has proven that investing in o�r cammunity generates and stimulates growth through retaiC, �
dining, hotel stays as well as new visitors, new businesses,and new faces for our wor!<farce. We are �
confident that a significant investment made into the Five Flags Center will only continue this trend for �
