Re: Senate File 358 (State Plumbing Code)
Dear Senator Connolly,
I am writing to request your support of Senate File 358, which would transfer the
responsibility for establishing the State Plumbing Code from the Iowa
Department of Public Health to the State Building Code Commissioner.
The State Plumbing Code should be governed by the State Building Code
Commissioner/Fire Marshal in order to achieve compatibility with other the
building codes that the State of Iowa regulates.
Having all the construction-related codes interpreted and supported by one State
office will help to reduce confusion and consolidate services for the public and
building inspectors in the State of Iowa.
