Assistant City Manager Cori Burbach, Assistant City Manager Teri Goodmann, Assistant City Attorney Maureen Quann Mayor Buol read the call and stated this is a special session of the City Council called for the purpose of conducting the annual goal setting session. GOAL SETTING (2 of 3) Mr. Sumek distributed an updated Section 8 of the Leader's Guide working document and lead discussion with the City Council regarding their individual top three actions for 2019-2010 from Section 6 of the Leader's Guide working document. Mr. Sumek and the City Council then reviewed, edited and preliminarily ranked the remaining five-year goals for 2024 that included objectives, challenges/opportunities, and actions for 2018-2020 from Section 11 of the Leader's Guide working document. Goal 3: Livable Neighborhoods and Housing: Great Place to Live; Goal 4: Financially responsible, high-performance city organization: sustainable, equitable and effective service delivery; Goal 5: Sustainable environment: preserving and enhancing natural resources; Goal 6: Partnership for a better Dubuque: building our community that is viable, livable and equitable. The City Council recessed for dinner from 6:05 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Goal 7: Diverse arts, culture, parks and recreation experiences and activities; Goal 8: Connected community: equitable transportation, technology infrastructure and mobility. Mr. Sumek reviewed the process for tomorrow morning's recap meeting with department managers and for the final session with City Council on tomorrow night.
