We sincerely agree this program will help with the lack of transportation options available for recruitment and retention of those employees. The RTA provides accessible, safe, convenient and efficient transportation for all citizens in the cities, communities and rural areas of Delaware Dubuque and Jackson Counties to enhance their quality of life. The RTA has been providing this service since 1978 and was established with the purpose of connecting the elderly, mentally and physically challenged, and low-income citizens to critical services like healthcare, counseling, nutrition, childcare, education, employment and social events. Employers, especially rural employers, are struggling to find ways to hire and keep good employees. This project is one of the recommendations that came through Transit Action Group, as well as one-on-one discussions with employers in this area. This project will help in improving safety and comfortability of people and help in reducing congestion and emissions along the Highway 20 Corridor, Highway 52 Corridor and Highway 61. This project is consistent with the Transportation Improvement Plan and Passenger Transportation Plan. The above project will play a vital role in addressing the quality of life improvements in the region. Sincerely, Michael C.
