Van Milligen, City Manager SUBJECT: Request for Support of Dubuque County Historical Society lowa Great Places Grant Application for Ham House DATE: November 1 , 2018 Dubuque County Historical Society President & CEO Kurt Strand advises that the Dubuque County Historical Society (DCHS) has submitted a $285,711 lowa Great Places grant application for work needed at the Ham House owned by the City and operated by the DCHS. Through grants and private donors, the DCHS has raised an additional $289,000. Kurt Strand is requesting the City consider committing to $136,250 for the Ham House site over three years beginning in 2019. Each one-year pledge would break down to $45,417 per year. This contribution would cover external repairs and contribute to retrofitting the external structure and landscaping. I respectfully recommend Mayor and City Council approval. �� �� ��� Mic ael C.
