SUBJECT: City Council Open House 396 W. Locust Street
City of Dubuque Affordable Housing Rehabilitation Project in
Partnership with Four Mounds Heart Program
DATE: November 14, 2018
The City teamed with the Four Mounds Heart Program to rehabilitate the City-owned
property at 396 West Locust Street. Housing and Community Development Director
Alexis Steger requests the City Council schedule an open house for December 3 from
5:00 to 530 p.m. at 396 West Locust to create an opportunity for City Council Members
and members of the public to see the finished product.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

City of Dubuque Affordable Housing Rehabilitation Project in
Partnership with Four Mounds Heart Program
DISCUSSION
The City teamed with the Four Mounds Heart Program to rehabilitate the City-owned
property at 396 West Locust Street. The Heart Program provides a hands-on learning
experience for youth in high school, and helps them achieve their goals of attaining a
high school diploma. These youth rehabilitated the home on 396 West Locust Street,
and the work on the house is exceptional. Three open houses have been held for staff
and the public to view the work completed due to the amazing transformation of the
structure. I am respectfully requesting scheduling an open house for City Council, to
showcase what has been accomplished with a lot of hard work from the youth in our
community.
City Clerk, Kevin Firnstahl, reviewed the City Council calendar and December 3�d is
available for this open house at 5:OOpm.
RECOMMENDATION
I respecffully request scheduling an open house for City Council at 396 W Locust Street
on December 3rd at 5:OOpm.
