ROLL CALL: Present: Directors Steven Drahozal, Dave Ruden, Rachel Boeke, Curt
Kiessling, Mike Freiburger, Neal Patten, Willie O'Brien (Phoned in) CCWMA
Administrators: Eric Schmechel Dean Mattoon Absent, Gerry Hess, Ryan Peterson,
CALL TO ORDER: Kiessling called the meeting to order at 5:15pm
October 3`d Meeting Minutes were approved. Motion made by Kiessling, seconded by
Drahozal.
ACTION ITEMS:
Mary Lammers waterway project was completed and inspected by NRCS. Motion was made by
Ruden, seconded by Frieburger to approve payment for waterway in the amount of$9,706.25.
Frieburger mentioned some maintenance that will need to be done on the waterway, and Mary will
be signing a 10 year maintenance agreement.
Motion was made to approve all CCWMA cover crop applications. Motion was made by
Kiessling, seconded by Drahozal. Ruden abstained from vote. $6,630.00 was paid to 4 cover crop
applicants (that had been inspected by NRCS). CCWMA is paying an additional $15/acre for
landowners in CatFish Creek.
ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC:
Rep. Chuck Isenhart attended the meeting. Isenhart discussed a partnership with Northeast Iowa
Community College(�CC) and some federal dollars that might be available far the college to
collaborate with. Schmechel updated the board on a proposal him and Adam Hoffman(University
of Dubuque)have begun working on. Schmechel will update the board in January after additional
discussion with�CC folks and the state of Iowa/NRCS.
Isenhart also informed the board that he will be a ranking member of the natural resource
committee at the state legislabxre. Isenhart recommended adding legislative priorities to our
agenda at the next meeting. Kiessling also discussed adding it to the statewide WMA meeting
agenda(which was held Dec. '�.
ITEMS FROM STAFF:
Schxnechel and Mattoon updated the board on the recent request for quotes for agriculbxral
modeling in the watershed. The City of Dubuque will meet in December and rank the 4 proposals
that were submitted to the City.
Mattoon updated the board on the completion of SQR/Native Landscaping project at TimberHyst
Park in the City of Dubuque.
