Proclamation Arbor Day 4 26 03PROCI AMATION
WHEREAS, on April 26, 2003, the citizens of Dubuque are invited to the Dubuque
Arboretum and Botanical Gardens to celebrate Arbor Day; and
WHEREAS, we recognize that trees contribute greatly to our quality of life and
the health of our urban environment; and
WHEREAS, we resolve to plant trees to protect our natural resources. Trees
cleanse the air we breathe, control and filter storm water run off and
hold our precious top soil; and
WHEREAS, we resolve to use our understanding of trees to plant and care for
them properly so that we can enjoy their many benefits and marvel at
their beauty.
NOW THEREFORE, I, TERRANCE M. DUGGAN, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THAT SATURDAY, APRIL 26, 2003 BE:
