ROLL CALL: Present: Directors Steven Drahozal, Ryan Peterson, Rachel Boeke, Curt
Kiessling, Mike Freiburger, Neal Patten, Willie O'Brien CCWMA Administrators: Eric
Schmechel Absent, Gerry Hess, Dave Ruden, Administrator, Dean Mattoon
CALL TO ORDER: Kiessling called the meeting to order at 5:03pm
December 5th Meeting Minutes were approved. Motion made by Freiburger, seconded by
Boeke. Passed 7-0.
ACTION ITEMS:
Dubuque County Conservation Board(DCCB) sediment basin was approved for $7,020.00 dollars.
Invoice was received by conolly construction, final inspection was done by NRCS. Motion was
made by Kiessling, seconded by Drahozal. Passed 7-0.
Final Cover Crop payment was approved. Jeff Heiderscheidt planted 55 acres. Jeff will receive a
check for$825 ($15 per acre/55 acres). Motion made by Boeke, seconded by Peterson. Passed 7-
0.
Schxnechel discussed streambank projects—applications received, and the survey/design process
by NRCS. Discussion followed regarding approval process for streambank projects. At the March
or April meeting,the board would like to see a meeting dedicated to SRF available money,
streambankprojects (that should be ranked based on several factors), and other projects that are
still open ended. Peterson recommended we put a timeframe(deadline) on projects. Board
members agreed.
ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC: None
ITEMS FROM STAFF:
Schxnechel updated the Board on the IPC grant RFP for ACPF/PTMapp modeling. Houston
engineering was awarded the project. All of Dubuque County will be modeled using both ACPF
and PTMapp. Updates on this project will be shared throughout the modeling process.
Schxnechel updated the board on the current status of SRF funding. Discussion followed regarding
remaining budget.
Schxnechel invited all board members to a"watershed symposium"Feb 27`°at the Miss River
Museum. The event will be free to the public and will feature a beer tasting. A complete agenda
will be sent out soon.
Freiburger updated the board on IDALS available funding for�VMAs. Approximately 15 million
dollars will be available through IDALS for�VMAs.
Schxnechel updated the board on a draft copy of the�CC proposal the University of Dubuque and
SWCD have been working on. Schmechel emailed all board members the first rough draft.
Schxnechel will keep the board updated on this.
