Proclamation Youth in GovernmPROCI AMATION
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council members are elected by City registered
voters for four year terms; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council are committed to doing a good job of
governing our great City; and
WHEREAS,
the Mayor and Council Members attend all Council Meetings and
Work Sessions which consist of approximately forty sessions per
year and by their office are involved in many other Boards working
for the ultimate good of the City; and
WHEREAS,
these individuals make decisions and laws that are not always
accepted by everyone; however, the Council accepts final decisions
of the group; and
WHEREAS, appreciation is not always expressed by citizens for the hard work
and extra time required by the Council.
NOW THEREFORE, I, KIMMY PARK, YOUTH MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE,
IOWA, ON BEHALF OF ALL THE YOUTH GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, DO HEREBY
EXPRESS APPRECIATION TO THE DUBUQUE MAYOR TERRY DUGGAN AND
COUNCIL MEMBERS ROY BUOL, PATRiCIA CLINE, JOYCE CONNORS, JOHN
MARKHAM, ANN MICHALSKI, AND DAN NICHOLSON, FOR THEIR DEDICATION
AND COMMITMENT TO GOOD GOVERNMENT.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set
