ROLL CALL: Present: Directors Steven Drahozal, Neal Patten, Curt Kiessling, Mike
Freiburger, , Gerry Hess CCWMA Administrators: Eric Schmechel and Dean Mattoon
Absent Wayne Demmer, Willie O'Brien
CALL TO ORDER: Boeke called the meeting to order at 5:08 pm
April and May Meeting Minutes were approved. Motion made by Hess, seconded by
Freiburger. Passed 7-0.
ACTION ITEMS:
Schmechel discussed the remaining projects the board had applications for. Mattoon and
Schmechel ranked projects based on a series of questions that was presented to the board.
Schmechel explained it was a difficult process, without having final costs for each project
done or final pollutant load reductions.
Mattoon commented that SRF funding still had plenty of time left before it had to get
spent.
Motion was made by Kiessling, seconded by Hess to proceed with all remaining projects
as is, with current ranking. Each project shall be discussed individually before each project
is approved. Motion carried 7-0.
ITEMS FROM STAFF:
Schmechel discussed the cover crop payments. Board would like cover crop payments to
stay the same at $15/acre. This would be in addition to state and/or federal cost-share
programs.
Mattoon updated the board on the status of Nutrient Reduction Exchange (NRE). A draft
version of an MOU has been completed and has been delivered to City attorney. Mattoon
and Schmechel are working on a memo for city manager and council to discuss.
ADJOURNMENT: Meeting adjourned at 6:05pm
