All window trim paint is deteriorated. This is a Section 8 Initial inspection. This appeal was tabled at the November 19, 2002 Appeals Board meeting pending the outcome of dust wipe testing. Easement bedroom is original construction: Bedroom floor: 10'8" x 13'10" 147.56 sq. ft. Required light: 147.56 x .08 = 11.80 sq. ft. Required ventilation: 147.56 x .04 = 5.90 sq. ft. Actual window: 42.5 x 17" divide by 144 = 5.01 sq. ft. Entire window opens, light and ventilation the same, 5.01 sq. ft. Light short: 11.80 minus 5.01 = 6.79 sq. ft. Ventilation short: 5.90 minus 5.01 = 0.81 sq. ft. This unit is a basement unit of a six-plex. The unit has two exit doors, one exit door directly to outside air, no steps, and one interior exit. This is a Section 8 Annual inspection. Timothy Moler, Housing Inspector, reported the work is done and there are no current violations. ED SWIFT MOTIONED TO DISMISS THE APPEAL BECAUSE THE WORK WAS DONE AND NO ACTION IS NEEDED. TOM HAAR~AN SECONDED. MOTION PASSED 6-0. BOARD COMMENTS (IF A/~f): CASE 02-00715 2435 QUEEN ST DUBUQUE, IA 52001 MOTION: TOM SWIFT SECOND: ED SWIFT THE FINDINGS OF THE BOARD WERE: Ronnie McDonald, agent for 2435 Queen Street, requested an extension of time until December 22, 2002 to complete exterior repairs. Exterior wood surfaces with peeling paint must be scraped and painted. Some exterior siding is incomplete. This is a Section 8 A/knua! inspection. TOM SWIFT MOTIONED TO GRANT THE EXTENSION OF TIME UNTIL DECEMBER 22, 2002 TO COMPLETE EXTERIOR REPAIRS. ED SWIFT SECONDED. MOTION PASSED 6-0. BOA-RD COMMENTS (IF AN-f): CASE 02-00716 632 WILSON ST DUBUQUE, IA 52001 MOTION: BOB SAMPSON SECOND: BILL KINSELLA - 3 - THE FINDINGS OF THE BOARD WERE: Jim Matheos, owner of 632-638 Wilson Street, requested an extension of time until January 30, 2003 to complete repairs. The rear bedroom North right window has a broken w~w ? .... ~e~e~ and is deficient an upper sash ba!ance~ Replace the North water heater relief valve. This is a Section 8 Annual inspection. BOB S~PSON MOTIONED TO GRANT THE EXTENSION OF TIME UNTIL jANUARY 30, 2003 TO COMPLETE REPAIRS. BILL KINSELLA SECONDED. MOTION PASSED 6-0. BOARD COMMENTS (IF ANY): COMMENTS: It has been brought to the attention of Kathy Lamb, Senior Housing Inspector, an Extension of Time request (02-00623), acted on by the Board on October 15, 2002, the Board failed to specifically act on the basement exterior stairs to the cellar exit from the basement. The members of the Board agreed to re-open this appeal at the next meeting. ADJOURNMENT: Bill Kinsella motioned to adjourn the meeting at 4:55. Bob Sampson seconded.
