08_23_1993 Des Moines Proclamation - Dubuque Appreciation DayPROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, On July 11, 1993, the City of Des Moines experienced the
worst flooding in its one -hundred and fifty year history
which displaced residents and flooded our water
treatment facility leaving the City without water; and
WHEREAS, Your quick response to our call for help was critical and
your contribution directly helped our residents through
this crisis; and
WHEREAS, The residents of the City of Des Moines wish to thank you
for your generosity.
NOW, THEREFORE, I John P. Dorrian, Mayor of the City of Des Moines, and
the Members of the City Council do hereby proclaim
Saturday, September 18, 1993, as:
The City of Dubuque, H & W Motor Express Company
and Swiss Valley Farms Appreciation Day
and call upon the citizens of Des Moines to recognize this
event.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, we have hereunto set our hand
and caused the Seal of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, to be
affixed, this 23rd day of August in the year of our Lord,
Nineteen Hqndred Ninety-three.
