HUD published in the Federal Register a national invitation to private non-profits to submit
applications under the Section 202 and Section 811 Capital Advance Programs.
I have enclosed copies of our local invitations to keep you informed of our activities with
these programs.

FUNDING NOTIFICATION FOR FISCAL YEAR 2003
SECTION 811 SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
CAPITAL ADVANCE PROGRAM
The Department of Housing and Urban Development will accept applications from
nonprofit organizations for rental or cooperative housing under the Section 811 Capital Advance
Program for Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities subject to the following:

This represents the funding available for the Des Moines Multifamily Program Center.
Applicants must not request more units than available and must not exceed the program limits for
housing for pemons with disabilities.
Appropriate filing information is contained in an Application Package, which may be
ordered from HUD's SuperNOFA Information Center at 1-800-HUD-8929 (TDD: 1-800-483-
2209); or via the Internet through the HUD web site at
http://www, hud. gov/offices/adm/grants/funclsavail, cfm. It may be beneficial for you to obtain
this information before the scheduled workshop.
THE APPLICATION MUST BE MAILED BY U.S. POSTAL SYSTEM BY THE
DUE DATE OF JUNE 13, 2003, 11:59 p.m. Application submission procedures have been
made consistent for all programs. Due to new security measures, applications may not be
hand carried to the Des Moines Office. Mailed applications will be determined acceptable as
long as they are postmarked on or before midnight on the application due date of June 13,
2003, and received by the appropriate HUD Office within fifteen (15) days of the application due
date. Applications sent by overnight or express mail delivery will be accepted before or on the
application due date or after that date as long as there is documentary evidence that they were
placed in transit with the overnight delivery service no later than the application due date.
Our Section 202/811 Workshop, for all interested applicants, will be held Thursday,
May 8, 2003, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Section 202 and 811 Satellite Broadcast training
is scheduled for May 15, 2003, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. CDT. Staff will also be available
after the Broadcast to answer any questions. In order to get into the Federal Building for the
Workshop or Broadcast you will need some form of identification with a picture. For

nonprofit organizations for rental or cooperative housing under the Section 202 Capital Advance
Program for Supportive Housing for the Elderly subject to the following:

This represents the funding available for the Des Moines Multifamily Program Center.
The minimum number of units per application is 20 units in metropolitan areas and 5 units in
nonmetropolitan areas and the maximum is limited by the total available in each category (i.e.
metro/non-metro).
