Van Milligen, City Manager SUBJECT: Hilcrest/Rosemont Storm Sewer Reconstruction Project DATE: August 13, 2019 Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the Hillcrest/Rosemont Storm Sewer Reconstruction Project was awarded on August 1, 2019, to Temperly Excavating, Inc., in the amount of $54,652, which is 18.87% over the estimate of probable cost. City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the Hillcrest/Rosemont Storm Sewer Reconstruction Project be officially recorded in the minutes of the City Council. Van Milligen, City Man qer� /- FROM: Gus Psihoyos, City Engineer �.,�„� DATE: August 8, 2019 RE: Hillcrest / Rosemont Storm Sewer Reconstruction Project INTRODUCTION The purpose of this memorandum is to award the construction contract for the Hillcrest / Rosemont Storm Sewer Reconstruction Project. DISCUSSION The Hillcrest / Rosemont Storm Sewer Reconstruction Project will provide for the reconstruction of the storm sewer between 3837 Hillcrest Road and 2098 Rosemont Street to provide much better street drainage and assist in the prevention of flooding neighboring properties. The project consists of approximately 35' of 36" RCP storm pipe, reconstruction of two existing storm intakes as well as adding an additional new storm intake to facilitate better drainage. BID RESULTS Sealed informal bids were received on August 1, 2019, for the Hillcrest / Rosemont Storm Sewer Reconstruction Project. Temperley Excavating, Inc. of East Dubuque, IL submitted the low bid in the amount of $54,652.00, which is 18.87% over the estimate of probable cost.
